FAQ

Fair questions, straight answers

How does the connector plugin work?

You install one lightweight, free plugin on each client site and pair it with a one-time code. Pairing generates a per-site key; every request between the hub and the site is signed, and we never store your WordPress passwords. The connector syncs site state, runs updates and backups, and mints short-lived single-use links for one-click wp-admin login.

Where do my backups actually live?

On infrastructure you control: incremental restore points are kept in a protected directory on the client’s own server, and encrypted archives stream directly to offsite destinations you configure — Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, Wasabi, Google Drive, Dropbox, or SFTP. WPClientHub stores only metadata (manifests, checksums, schedules). If you ever leave, your backups are already yours.

Will it work with my hosting?

Yes — host-neutrality is the point. The connector targets PHP 7.4+ and is built to survive shared hosting: chunked, resumable backup steps, loopback cron fallbacks, and WP-CLI support. Managed hosts, VPSes, and budget shared plans are all fine, and we will never try to migrate you onto “our” hosting, because we don’t have any.

How does client billing work?

Billing Suite connects to your own Stripe account via Stripe Connect. You define products and plans, attach clients, and Stripe handles collection, receipts, and payouts — directly to you. On paid tiers WPClientHub adds 0% platform fee; you pay only Stripe’s normal processing rates. The free tier carries a 2% fee.

Is my data safe?

Site communication is signed per-site — a compromise of our database never yields access to your sites, because sites hold only public keys and we hold no WordPress credentials. Your organization’s data is strictly isolated from other tenants, every action is logged to an audit trail, and backups never transit our servers at all.

What happens if I cancel?

Your sites keep running — WPClientHub is a management layer, not a dependency. Backups remain on your servers and your own storage, and the connector plugin is yours to deactivate whenever you like. Nothing about your sites or clients is locked in with us.
